Alan Aldridge
The Brief
In the last couple of years Echo Studios has been working closely with the Design Museum as a benefactor, celebrating the exhibition and works of famous artists.
A recent project involved Alan Aldridge – the Man with the Kaleidoscope Eyes. Alan is famous for his work as Creative Artist for Penguin Books, collaborations with The Beatles and the Apple Record Company, and commissions from Andy Warhol, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Elton John and The House of Blues.
Echo was commissioned to show Alan’s work by Nina Due (Curator) at the Design Museum, with the very close eye of Morag Myerscough (Designer) and an overview from Alan’s daughter.
The Solution
The graphical output was achieved in a very short time frame and Echo Studios was proud to produce the entire graphics works, taking into consideration 72% of application was to be recyclable.
Our studio department worked hard to accurately reflect the era of Alan Aldridge in which most artworks were produced by hand, so the extensive scanning and retouching had to be masterfully perfected.
The Result
The graphics were installed at the Design Museum by our in-house installation team. The installation of over 2000 metres of vinyl alone was quite a remarkable feat, bringing to life the dramatic career of this celebrated illustrator. Echo Studios continues to be their preferred supplier for producing the works of their acclaimed exhibitors.
